Resetting Your Tire Pressure Light

If the flashing tire pressure light appears after you’ve inflated your tires at your local Dyersburg gas station, you may need to follow the following steps to turn the light off:

  • If the TPMS light is on, jump on an interstate near Brownsville and drive at or above 50 mph to reset it.
  • Once you’re back home, turn your vehicle off, then turn your key to the “On” position but don’t start the engine completely. Press and hold the TPMS reset button until you see the flashing tire pressure light blink three times, then release it. Start your vehicle and wait about 20 minutes for the sensor to restart itself.
  • Inflate all tires to 3 PSI over their recommended amount, then completely deflate them including the spare tire. Inflate them to the recommended tire pressure amount.
  • Once again, turn off your vehicle and disconnect the positive battery cables with a wrench. Turn your vehicle back on and honk your horn for three seconds to discharge the remaining power left in the vehicle. Then reconnect the battery.

Besides learning how to reset the tire pressure light, our technicians have several service tips and tricks to help all Humboldt drivers feel more confident in their vehicle care.

What Does a Flashing Tire Pressure Light Mean?
